Access to Accounts — Replay Resistant
✓ LOW ✓ MODERATE ✓ HIGHRequirements NIST SOURCE
Implement replay-resistant authentication mechanisms for access to [one of: privileged accounts; non-privileged accounts].
Discussion (NIST Supplemental Guidance)
Authentication processes resist replay attacks if it is impractical to achieve successful authentications by replaying previous authentication messages. Replay-resistant techniques include protocols that use nonces or challenges such as time synchronous or cryptographic authenticators.

No engineering interpretation has been authored for IA-2(8) yet. This section is architected to receive it — see the Requirements and Assessment sections above for the authoritative NIST source content in the meantime.
Assessment
Assessment Objectives
- one or more of the following PARAMETER VALUES is/are selected: {privileged accounts; non-privileged accounts};
- replay-resistant authentication mechanisms for access to <IA-02(08)_ODP SELECTED PARAMETER VALUES> are implemented.

STIGs & CCIs
No STIG checks or CCI mappings are currently loaded for IA-2(8). This section is architected to display, per product: STIG ID, Finding ID, Severity, Title, Description, Check, Fix, CCI, and NIST control mapping — but nothing is populated here until a real DISA STIG/CCI dataset is ingested.
